| How to Calculate and Split your cabfare when Sharing Cab |
If 3 passengers going Tampines from UniSim, all same location, then the cabfare will be divided by 3.
If 3 passengers going towards the east but different location towards tampines from UniSim, example like ubi(20km from unisim),bedok(25km from unisim), tampines(30km from unisim). Use TripSum.com to find out the distance between 2 point by its drivecost/cabfare calculator.
Go to the nearest destination from UniSIM, so it should be Ubi, Bedok then Tampines. So here is the formula for sharing a cab
If the first stop at ubi, the person going to ubi need to pay $[(20/(20+25+30)) x cabfare when reach tampines]).
Same goes to others
If the 2nd stop at bedok, the person going to bedok need to pay ($[(25/(20+25+30)) x cabfare when reach tampines]).
If the 3rd stop at Tampines, the person going to tampines need to pay ($[(30/(20+25+30)) x cabfare when reach tampines]).
This is the fairest way to split the cabfare among passengers when sharing a cab.
